TIP 1 WRITE CHECK-IN MOMENTS INTO YOUR SCRIPT

To remind yourself to stay away from the monologue, you can write things like “pause” or “group pulse check” into your notes.

In virtual presentations, make sure you do some kind of engagement piece, at least every 10 minutes, to keep your audience with you.

TIP 2 PRACTICE TO A REAL PERSON

Try your introduction on the grocery store clerk. Ask your mom if you can give her your conclusion. Treat your husband to a romantic rendition of your first section, right before bed.

You’ll see if they’re nodding their heads, or if they’re looking confused. Their feedback will alert you to where you may need a check-in for clarity with your actual audience. Do this as many times as you possibly can.
